Archive for December, 2008

Below is a copy of an email I sent out.  Beginning Jan 5th I will be blogging daily as I work to get back on track with my nutrition, exercise and healthy lifestyle.  Join me!

So, it’s that time of year again.  Time to start thinking about what life may look like for you in 2009.  As I’ve been assessing my own life, I’ve come to a stark realization: I have not been practicing what I preach.  Unlike when I started my business three years ago and I was eating great, exercising regularly, and living a low stress lifestyle, my current lifestyle is not what I would describe as optimum.  So, what’s a health counselor to do?  I have the knowledge, so that’s not the problem.  It looks like life has just gotten in the way.  Sound familiar?

Well, it’s time for a change.  And I figured, if I am going to work to make lasting change, why not take the opportunity to share my journey with our Ripple Effect family, that is the concept behind our name after all.  If I can make a positive change and share it with you, maybe you’ll make a change and share your successes with others and so on.  So, starting on January 5th, I will begin updating my blog on a daily basis with my nutritional, exercise and general lifestyle changes.  I’ll include recipes, food choices, and any other tips that come to me on my journey.  And I’m sure there will be some humor and excitement mixed in there as well.

My basic plan is to start with an elimination/provocation diet the month of January, do 40 days of yoga and meditation the month of February, and moving all of this into a sustainable, healthy lifestyle in March.  And I will do all this while starting a new 40-hour a week job with an hour commute each way, so convenience and planning will be key.

If this journey sounds like one you’d like to take with me, or at least watch from a distance, please go to my blog page and sign up to get updates from my blog sent right to your mailbox http://jess.rippleeffectwellness.com.  I would love your comments and support along the way.  Your comments and questions will make this an even more powerful experience for everyone.

Best of luck as you move into a new year.  Be sure to take care of yourself and the ripple effect is sure to follow for those around you.  I hope to hear from each of you!

Be well!
